A trailer for a RIB — which one to choose and which driving licence you need

A trailer lets you keep the boat in a garage or at home, take it on holiday to another lake and save on a marina berth. How do you choose one?
Length and load capacity
The trailer is matched to the boat’s length and its weight including the outboard, fuel and equipment. You will find the boat’s weight in the model’s specifications and the outboard’s weight in the outboard’s data.
Trailers we offer
| Boat length | Trailer type | Price |
|---|---|---|
| up to 3.8–4.9 m | single-axle | about 5,100 zł |
| up to 5.2–5.9 m | single-axle, unbraked | about 11,600 zł |
| up to 6.0 m | twin-axle, braked | about 12,300 zł |
| up to 6.8 m | twin-axle, braked | about 16,800 zł |
| up to 7.5 m | twin-axle, braked | about 26,000 zł |
| up to 8.5–9.5 m | twin-axle, braked | about 27,200 zł |
You can choose the trailer together with the boat in the 3D configurator — we will match a model to your boat.
Braked or unbraked?
An unbraked trailer may have a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of up to 750 kg. A heavier combination needs a trailer with an overrun brake. Larger boats use twin-axle trailers — they tow more steadily and spread the load more evenly.
Which driving licence?
- B — a trailer with a GVW up to 750 kg, or heavier if the combined GVW of car and trailer does not exceed 3,500 kg.
- B with code 96 — a combination with a total GVW up to 4,250 kg.
- B+E — a trailer with a GVW up to 3,500 kg.
Also check the permitted trailer weight in your car’s registration document — that is often the real limit, not the driving licence.
Launching from the trailer
- Before the slipway, undo the transport straps but keep the winch strap attached.
- Keep the outboard tilted up in the transport position until the boat is afloat.
- Reverse down the slipway slowly, so the boat floats off while the car’s wheels stay dry.
- After use in salt water, rinse the trailer with fresh water — especially the brakes and bearings.
